Europe Activity
Scenerio:
Imagine that you work for a travel agency. Your assignment is to put together a historical tour of Europe that visits at least five cities. You must produce a seven-page guidebook that includes a one-page overview with an itinerary; one page with a map showing the locations of all the cities; and one page for each of the five cities on the tour.
Each city page must include the following information:
• Name of city
• General climate and geography
• Language(s) spoken
• Currency
• Type of government
• One or two of the city’s historical landmarks or events, including an image and a short descriptive paragraph
Identify appropriate print and online materials about your European cities. The following Web sites provide basic facts about countries and cities:
• Lonely Planet: Destinations (Europe)
• National Geographic Map Machine: Country Profiles
Once you have completed your travel guides, you will present itineraries to the
class, briefly describing each of the destinations. After the presentations, we will discuss which cities were most popular and why.
