Planning a Schoolwide
History Night
Every year, students in grades that are eligible for National History Day spend a semester working on a project they will present at the District Contest held in March. In order to prepare students for this experience, as well as receive vital feedback on their projects, a History Night is held. Click here to see more information about the 1st Annual History Night that took place on March 6, 2013.

Schedule TemplateUse the template below to create a schedule for the night! The goal is that each project has an opportunity to meet with a judge for 15-20 minutes and have the chance to share his/her project. The judge will use the rubric that is used at the District Contest so students have a clear understanding about how they are judged. (This template is courtesy of Wayne Trembly who guided us through our first experience of planning a History Night.)

Student Projects SpreadsheetIn order to keep all the information organized, we created a spreadsheet based on the completed schedule template. This allowed us to double check that we hadn't made any mistakes. You will notice that we created a seperate spreadsheet for each category. This was our master list that in allowed us to find any student and his/her information (category, room, time, judge).
