Jamestown, Virginia colony was the first successful English colony in America. At first the colonists did nothing but look for gold so they didn't have a lot of food to eat, but they soon were able to get food from the Native American tribe nearby to help them survive and learn how to plant corn and grow food. Jamestown then began to produce tobacco for England to earn money to live.
